Approach to finish

Approach to Durban for Spectators via Springfield Road
The most convenient way to arrive at the finish area is to take the N3 Toll Road from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW THE CYCLISTS ON THE ROUTE - YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO USE THE ROADS! Avoid the M13, as the cyclists will use this route and it is closed

1. When coming from PMB quite soon after the Pavilion Shopping Centre on your right the Highway will split.
2. Take the left split and keep left to NORTH COAST.
3. Continue along this Highway Northerly direction and exit at INANDA ROAD /SPRINGFIELD PARK/UMGENI ROAD.
4. You will continue through SPRINGFIELD PARK SHOPPING COMPLEX for about 5kms through 5 traffic lights.
5. The road then splits, take the RIGHT FORK and go under the flyover.
6. You will notice it has a fence dividing the road in two and a train line on your left.
7. Carry along this road until you reach the ARGYLE ROAD (Sandile Thusi) intersection
8. Turn left into ARGYLE road and travel to the end of that road
9. You will cross over the M4 (Ruth First Highway)
10. At the end of Argyle road you will see Blue Waters Hotel on your right. Keep to the left and drive past Suncoast Towers
11. You will reach the Suncoast tollgate circle where you will keep going straight and turn at the next circle left into Battery Beach Road
12. On your left is the entrance to the Mustering Fields parking lot where you will park and walk across the road to the Moses Mabhida Stadium

Approach to Durban for Spectators via Tollgate Bridge/Ridge Road/Argyle Road
The most convenient way to arrive at the finish area is to take the N3 Toll Road from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

  1. When coming from Pietermaritzburg take the TOLLGATE OFF RAMP - you will see the cyclists on your right going down into town.
  2.  Turn immediately left into RIDGE ROAD.
  3.  Continue along RIDGE ROAD in a Northerly direction, past Overport Centre on your right.
  4.  You will continue along RIDGE ROAD for about 5 kms through 5 traffic lights.
  5.  The road then splits, with a low red brick wall.  At the end of this wall you will turn right into SPRINGFIELD ROAD.
  6.  You will continue down SPRINGFIELD ROAD towards the sea, through 7 Traffic light intersections - this becomes ARGYLE ROAD.
  7.  You will cross over the M4 (Ruth First Hiway)
  8. Turn left into mastering fields between Natal Command and M4 – easy convenient parking close to MMS or you can proceed to Suncoast for R10 parking
  9.  At the end of Argyle road you will see Blue Waters Hotel on your right. Keep to the left and drive past Suncoast Towers
  10. You will reach the Suncoast tollgate circle where you will keep going straight and turn at the next circle left into Battery Beach Road
  11. On your left is the entrance to the Mustering Fields parking lot where you will park and walk across the road to the Moses Mabhida Stadium
