Shova Series 4 x 4

We have exciting news as we are branching out and going wild (so to speak) – since Covid19 did not allow the Amashova cycle race to take place in 2020 there is another event in the pipeline – this event is great for social distancing and strictly adheres to all covid19 protocols.

This year we are introducing a 4 x 4 Series to be held at the beautiful Stoney Ridge Game Farm near Weenen in Kwa-Zulu Natal (half way between Gauteng and KZN). The series is made up of four events that can only accommodate 100 vehicles over each of the weekends which will start on a Friday and end on Sunday.

If you like the outdoors, love taking your 4×4 for a challenge and want to spend quality time with the family this event is right up your alley. There is a lovely river on the farm which gives a stunning setting for wild camping. We are offering two tiers of entry, one that includes food, presented by Paula from Full Cream Catering, 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts per person, or if you prefer to do your own, one without catering.

There are five spectacular 4 x 4 driving trails to choose from that are about 3 hours long each as well as the opportunity to learn 4 x 4 driver skills from the very well-known John Rich. The weekend also includes 30km mountain bike game viewing rides (you can ride as often as you like and game view or bird watch – over 265 bird varieties have been spotted).

The event supports the Mvubu State Aided Primary School that is located on Stoney Ridge Farm. The school has 3 teachers with Mrs Dlamini the Principal having been there for 17 years. She has close to 100 learners whom they feed every day and we would really like to get a veggie garden going as our first project. They really do need assistance and we are delighted to be in a position to be part of their future as CSI programme.

The first event will take place from Friday 7 May to Sunday 9 May 2021. Event number two will be held on 9 – 11 July, third event will take place 10 – 12 September and the final event 12 – 14 November.

The programme for the weekend of 7 – 9 May will be as follows:

• 12pm – 2pm: arrival and registration
• 2pm – 5pm: voluntary farm school activities
• 5pm: briefing and welcome drinks
• 5:30pm – 7pm: dinner and music. COVID 19 protocols observed
