The unit of currency is the Rand which consists of 100 cents. There are many foreign exchange offices around Durban and most banks will be able to change foreign currencies.
Climate
Summers are warm and humid with an average temperature of 28 Degrees centigrade. Winters are mild with an average temperature of 18 degrees centigrade. The ocean rarely dips below 17 degrees centigrade.

Durban’s main airport is King Shaka International Airport.
Taxis and Uber are available all around Durban for Transport needs.
Time Zone
South Africa has one time zone all year around, which is two hours ahead of GMT.
Electricity
South Africa’s Electricity supply runs on 220/230v Sockets and take round-pinned plugs. Adapters are available at most airports or travel shops.
Malaria
Durban and most of KZN is malaria free. Please consult a medical consultant should you be traveling further North into our game reserve areas.
Internet
There are a number of internet cafes around Durban, but most hotels have wifi or internet hot spots.
Language
Most people in Durban speak English or Zulu, however most people can communicate and understand basic English.

Our tap water is drinkable and safe to drink.
